Privacy Policy

Effective 14 August 2026

Thank you for using the Hello, Madame – Wallpapers Chrome extension. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension handles, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data.

No Account Required

Hello, Madame – Wallpapers does not require an account, registration, or login. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information such as your name, email address, or browsing history.

What the Extension Does

Hello, Madame – Wallpapers replaces your browser's new tab page with a full-screen curated photograph, a clock, a Google search bar, local weather, and shortcuts to Google apps. It does not read, track, or modify any other pages you visit.

Information Stored Locally

The following data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage, and is never transmitted to our servers:

This data never leaves your device and is removed when you uninstall the extension.

Search

The search bar sends your queries directly to Google, and typed URLs navigate directly to the address you enter. We do not see, store, or log your searches. Searches are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Weather

To show local weather, the extension requests a forecast for your approximate location from a public weather service. No account or API key is required, your location is used only to fetch the forecast, and it is never stored on our servers or linked to your identity. As with any web request, the weather service may technically receive your IP address as part of standard network communication.

Photographs

The daily photographs are downloaded from our content delivery servers. These requests fetch images only and do not include any personal information or browsing data.

Sponsored Content

Hello, Madame – Wallpapers is supported by a small, clearly-labeled sponsored card that appears occasionally on the new tab page — at most one new tab in three, and never during your first days of use. It can be dismissed with one click. Sponsored cards appear only within the extension's own new tab page and never on the websites you visit. Our sponsorship partner may collect limited, non-identifying technical information (such as approximate location derived from IP address, browser language, or device type) to serve and measure sponsored cards. We do not share your searches, browsing history, or any personal data with sponsors.
